The Original Site
Nunsploitation.Net was founded in 2003 as a Nunsploitation Movie Database. It provided a comprehensive database of Nunsploitation films, including cast and crew information, run time, summaries, and (of course) reviews! It provided a one-stop shop for Nunsploitation movie news and articles.
The site was relaunched in 2024 with more focus on reviews with news and artcles shifting to the Reddit community.
Our goal is to provide information and reviews on every Nunsploitation movie ever! Is there a movie you're thinking about renting or buying but you're not sure it's worth your time as a Nusnploitation fan? Check out our reviews! About Nunsploitation
Nunsploitation is a genre of movies that focuses on the exploitation of at least one of three ideals of nuns: chastity, holiness, and righteousness. Films that depict nuns as sexually tempted, immoral, or licentious exploit the ideal of chastity. Films that depict nuns as demons, ghosts, vampires, or the objects of demonic possession exploit a nun's holiness. Films that depict nuns as cruel, evil, or authoritarian exploit a nun's righteousness.
Another aspect of exploitation is following a trend for financial gain. The exploitation of three films The Devils (1971), The Decameron (1971), and The Exorcist (1973) led to a Golden Age of Nunsploitation. This trend continues today with the exploitation of The Nun (2018).
